Frequently Asked Questions
Can I open a shop in the Township Zone?
Yes, with a planning permit. A shop with a leasable floor area of less than 150 sqm is a Section 2 (permit required) use. Larger retail premises may also be possible depending on the schedule.
Is the Township Zone residential or commercial?
It is both. The TZ is a mixed-purpose zone specifically designed for small towns where residential, commercial, and community uses coexist. It is classified as a residential zone in the VPP.
What development standards apply in the TZ?
Clause 55 (ResCode) standards apply to residential development of two or more dwellings. Building height and setback standards in the zone also apply, and the schedule may set additional requirements.
