Frequently Asked Questions
Can I live and work in the Mixed Use Zone?
Yes. The MUZ is specifically designed to support a mix of residential and non-residential uses. You can operate a business from the ground floor with residential above, or combine live-work uses on the same site.
Is there a height limit in the MUZ?
The zone itself does not specify a mandatory building height limit. However, height is almost always controlled by a Design and Development Overlay (DDO) or other planning scheme provision. Check your local overlays.
Can I build an apartment building in the MUZ?
Yes, residential development including apartments is permitted. The development will be assessed against Clause 58 (apartment standards) if it is five or more storeys, or Clause 55 for lower-scale multi-dwelling development.
